Window Signage Criteria
All proposed window signage must be submitted to A.J. Dwoskin & Associates for review and approval prior to its fabrication and/or installation. A.J. Dwoskin will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by tenant for having any sign fabricated prior to an approval and tenant shall remove any unapproved signs immediately at landlord's request.
All submittals must include the following information:
- Materials
- Sign dimensions
- Text content
- Colors
- Individual window/door dimensions
- Sign percentage of size being used in individual window/door.
- Photo with the superimposed sign in proposed location.
The following criteria are to be used when submitting a proposal to A.J. Dwoskin & Associates for window signage approval:
- No more than 20% of door or window area shall be covered by any type of sign (see below).
- Professionally fabricated white, vinyl lettering is permitted.
- Neon (Neon colors permitted are red, green and white only )
- Transom window above entrance door is permitted to have an “OPEN” sign without prior approval. Colors: red, white or green only.
- Any language other than English must also have, directly adjacent or below, an English translation that is equal in size to the non-English sign.
Please note: NO NEON is permitted at Jermantown Square. The City of Fairfax prohibits it. Any signs in the windows at this center also count towards the maximum allowable signage for your store. Therefore, the total s.f. of storefront signage and window signage must be within the total allowance for the storefront.
Formula to calculate 20% of the window:
Window height x window width = size in square inches
Sign height x sign width = size in square inches
Sign size divided by window size = percentage of window the sign uses (which must be lest that 20% or less). Return to Property Management.
